A Voice Like Rhetoric - Ethos (2006) (v0)

When a group says they draw influences from ATDI, Botch, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Black Flag, Toe, and Don Cab, a puzzled look would be an appropriate reaction. How could a group create this sound while still being tolerable, and accessible?

Although Ethos is A Voice Like Rhetoric's freshman LP, it's angular guitar work, over-the-top percussion, and friendly blend of screams and harmonized vocals make it more than impressive. Fall of Troy, with a backbone impressive. Although it's sometimes off-beat and algebraic, you'll end up tapping your foot or nodding your head the whole way though.

One Response so far.
