Crooked Still - Hop High (2004) and Shaken by a Low Sound (2006)
Crooked Still is a string band to end all string bands. The foundation of their sound is the virtuosic cello of Rushad Eggleston, who (apart from liking funny hats) is the first current Berklee student to be awarded a Grammy. Banjo duties are handled by Dr. Gregory Liszt (MIT - Biology, if you were wondering), while Aoife O' Donovan dishes folky yet sultry vocals. They play old standards, originals, and everything in between. Regardless of whether your itunes (or better yet songbird) normally sees much banjo, I DARE YOU NOT TO LIKE THIS BAND. This pack contains their first two albums.

All of which are, of course, left in the dust by Amarok.

This shit is actually pretty good. The lead singer sounds like an Allison Kraus/chick from Nickel Creek, if they had lesbian sex this voice would come out.
