King Crimson - The Night Watch (1998)

No, this isn't another album full of bootleg recordings. The Night Watch contains the best songs from the Larks' Tongues in Aspic and Starless and Bible Black, and makes them better by...well...by having them played in a live environment. All the songs have that extra oomph to them. And since it's King Crimson, you know that it's all played flawlessly.

This is a great album to start with if you have only heard In the Court of the Crimson King. With this baby, you'll get the smoky goodness of John Wetton's vocals, Fripp's patented guitar insanity with complementary violin from David Cross (not to say that he always plays second fiddle, har har), and Bill Bruford's incredibly diverse drumming.

For those who don't like King Crimson, this should be my last upload from them for a little while. Also, fuck you. How can you not like King Crimson?
