Ólafur Arnalds - Eulogy for Evolution (2007)

Great instrumental music from Iceland. Ólafur Arnalds's debut album, it consists of amazing solo piano and violin songs and songs with piano, violin, viola, and cello, one or two times going into crescendos that lead to drums and guitar parts, only to suddenly drop off into ambience and piano solos.

This is definitely worth downloading, even if it isn't your normally preferred genre of music.
The composer, Ólafur Arnalds, is in his early 20s, and has a fairly diverse background in music, having also composed for German metalcore bands and played drums in other projects, along with having a side project where he puts out tracks of minimal techno.

link died here's some other blog's upload for now: link. their tags suck but I'll upload a better version in a bit.

Also, starting today (April 13th), he is going to put out a new track for free on his website every day for a week as part of a project he has named "Found Songs". He will compose each piece in a 24 hour period, using some bits from old lost ideas and notes. At the end of the week, I will upload them as one file here for you to download.
