Angra - Temple of Shadows (2004)

This is one of the better power metal albums in existence. Fundamentally, this is a power metal album, but there are some nice proggy sections and latin grooves backed by a really well-arranged orchestra. (not monophonic synth-strings a la most other power metal ever) Moreover, the concept behind this album is complex beyond belief. It has something to do with a 12th-century crusader knight becoming disillusioned with the church's expansionist tendencies, or something like that. More importantly for a power metal album, it has some great guitar solos and crazy falsetto. Enjoy.

I'm pretty sure that this has been uploaded here before. It's awesome enough to merit a second time though.

Makes me want to ride a horse into battle with a flaming longsword. Not that I've ever ridden a horse. Or been in battle. Or set a longsword on fire.
