cLOUDDEAD - Ten (2004)

cLOUDDEAD is a super hip-hop group c0mposed of Why?, Doseone and Odd Nosdam. It's always been considered to be a side-project. They rap about dog carcasses, sticking roses in deer antlers and occasionally wander off into mumble-rap territory. To label this as a simple rap/hip-hop album would be doing it a disservice. The instrumentals themselves could be released as a stand-alone record. Imagine beats made from found sounds, ambient drones, stuttery vocals and broken riddims. Now picture three white guys rapping about the stuff no one else will touch. That's Ten.

I love this record, but I love the first one even more

I also love this record, I think it's a much more cohesive experience than the first one. And as bizarre as it can be it's still their pop record, and frankly it's a walk in the park compared to Dose & BoomBip's 'Circle.'

  3. Easily one of my top 5 from the 00s.
