Forest Swords - Dagger Paths (2010)

Musique concrète with a dose of Spaghetti-western infused post-dubstep ambient electronics...or something like that. This is Matt Barnes' one-man project. Bask in the spatial-awareness of the tracks and drown yourself in the heavily-reverberated vocals and quasi-drone-like ambiance. Barnes doesn't like playing chords on his guitar ('cause anyone can play a C# to Am an A to Am, honestly) so he's borrowed from the likes of Morricone and Burial to create a sound that has been described as "like nothing else out there." Lauded by many big-name blogs and music critics as a "best of 2010" release so here's to not feeling left out anymore.
