The Black Keys - Thickfreakness (2003)

Two guys from Ohio. "Rich audio gumbo." Riff-heavy blues rock. Not much else to it really. Oh yeah, Dan Auerbach "plays the guitar like he's stringing barbed wire" and Patrick Carney plays the drums "like they're coated with years of cigarette smoke from greasy clubs and roadhouses." You get the idea.

Erik, you link to six different projects. If you'd like for us to check something out, it'd be in your best interest to pick just one... We haven't got "oodles" of time, hence my 'not listening.'

Really dig the Black Keys... I think Nicole Atkins is similar to them in a lot of ways… she has a new album coming out soon. Check her out for sure. Pre order: http://bit.ly/MondoPre Cool Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paLarbLjc6s
